As an Asian-American woman, I wanted to make it known that Asian immigrants and other Asian diaspora groups are apart of the United States of America's culture and history, despite this recent Presidential administration and racism rebuking that fact. I wanted to make an abstracted flag that was representative of other Asian countries' flags and distort it, since being "American", for me is a distorted experience and national identity itself that is not united as a homogeneous race. I animated eyes to give the print more of a dynamic feel and to show that the people in this flag are active and human, like anyone else.
